Isawa Satomi

A quiet, studious shugenja, Isawa Satomi has a wealth of knowledge and experience which makes him a great asset to his clan. In recent years, he has served Shiba Katsuda as Karo and occasionally as an ambassador to the court of Daidoji Asato in Toshi Ranbo however this duty he always performed reluctantly as he finds social situations -particularly the cut and thrust of court- somewhat distressing. Satomi was therefore somewhat relieved when his niece, Isawa Toshiko, arrived at Nikesake after years studying at the courtier school at Kyuden Asako? as Katsuda immediately gave her the role of Hatamoto to Toshi Ranbo.

However, Satomi is not as honourable as he at first appeared. During the Battle of Mamoru Kyotei Toshi, heremained in Toshi Ranbo rather than returning to Nikesake? and used foul maho -acquired from who-knows where- to summon Oni no Satomi from the depths of Jigoku.
